exhibition SKY V at Sony imaging gallery, Tokyo

The Nihon University College of Art, Department of Photography Faculty Exhibition SKY V has successfully ended.

Thank you to everyone who came to the exhibition.

Suzuki exhibited a large 9-meter-wide print titled "March Requiem.

It is a monochrome print on Japanese paper. Hanging from the ceiling, the prints swayed in the room's air conditioning, inviting viewers to a quiet moment.

日本大学芸術学部写真学科教員 作品展 SKY V　は、おかげさまで無事終了しました。

ご来場いただいたみなさま、ありがとうございました。 鈴木は「3月の鎮魂」という、横幅９mの大型プリントを展示しました。

和紙にしたためられたモノクロームのプリント。天井から吊るすことで室内空調によって揺らぎ、鑑賞者を静かな時間へと誘います。

Statement

‘The Requiem in March’

One day in March, I was standing on a hill, looking down on the city, and

my thoughts wandered across the sea. My parents have disappeared in 2011 by

the tsunami. Even though there are 500 kilometers from my hometown, the

Pacific Ocean is connected. When I follow the water edge, I can reach my

hometown, Onagawa. I photographed the city of Zushi with the pinhole camera

to capture the spirit of my parents, which my eyes could not see. The ocean

will connect me with them.

鈴木麻弓「3月の鎮魂」

3月のある日、高台に登って街を見下ろし、私は海の向こうに思いを馳せていた。両

親は2011年の大津波で姿を消してしまった。故郷から500km離れようと太平洋はつ

ながっていて、水辺をたどれば故郷に辿り着く。目に映らない両親の魂を捉えよう

と、ピンホールカメラで逗子の町を撮影した。海は両親と私を結んでくれるだろう。
